Hey so we are happy to announce we are back to play our first two shows since our little adventure to Singapore. We are returning to the gigging circuit after a short hiatus, which has seen us start preparations for our next release. Its been a big year for us so far, Recently the band made it to the semifinals of the Big Splash Band comp which was awesome! Earlier in the year we performed at The West Coast Blues and Roots festival which lead to us playing overseas @ Beerfest Asia (Singapore) with our friends The Brow. We got tight with The Brow as both bands flew the flag for Fremantle music over seas. So we thought we would do a show together in Fremantle!
THE BROW (formerly Brow Horn Orchestra) are a high-energy brass n’ beats five-piece party band that play genre-defying, dance-demanding electronic/hip hop/pop music laced with an irrefutable energy and a heavy platter of global sounds. In the Brow swag to date: A bunch of WAMI's and Perth Dance Music Awards (Best Live Act three years running / Best Hip Hop Act), three releases and a whole lot of national radio love. THE AMANI CONSORT / THE BROW / JKASH SEPTEMBER 12th @ THE ODD FELLOW Doors open 8pm / Entry $15 Dont miss out as this show will sell out! And for all those people that live down south we are coming down to see you guys too, with a free 2 hour show at the iconic Settlers Tavern. our last show there was packed so this is one party not to be missed! THE AMANI CONSORT SEPTEMBER 13th @ SETTLERS TAVERN Doors open 9:30pm / Entry FREE Well in a word "Brilliant". The Amani Consort had a magic time in Singapore, such an awesome introduction to the Singapore music scene. Special thanks to WAM, Danny Loong and his team for a great experience. We had two fantastic shows some funny interviews, a great panel & discussion exchange with some lovely Singaporean artist, oh and as you would expect from Beerfest lots of BEER. Big love to the other two W.A. bands who share this adventure with us The Disappointed and The Brow you guys rock!!! We were also lucky enough to be invited to sit in on some jam sessions, firstly at Beerfest with Danny Loong's all star blues band which consisted of players from around the world. The amazing William Gathright a bass player from (L.A.) then invited us for a jam at the Sultan hotel jazz club run by the amazing Eddie Layman (NYC) who sat in on drums with us! All in all we met some fantastic musicians and some great new friends! Check out the Singapore love from the "Power of Pop" blog with an awesome review by Keven Mathews! http://www.powerofpop.com/the-amani-consort-better-way-ep-review/ Last weekends STATE OF THE ART festival celebrating the best in W.A. music was an absolute cracker and we were stoked to be part of it. Big thanks to the organizers and all those who came down. The Amani Consort is proud to announce we are off to SINGAPORE for Beerfest ASIA on June 13th Yay!! Beerfest is the largest beer festival in the southern hemisphere attracting over 30,000 people. This will be our first overseas trip with the band, so we are mega exited!
